You have just put AdBlue into the diesel tank. It is an easy mistake to make at a busy filling station, especially when you are tired, travelling or driving an unfamiliar rental vehicle. The best way to fix AdBlue contamination is simple: do not start the vehicle, do not turn on the ignition, and arrange for a specialist to remove the contaminated fuel before it reaches the engine.
This is not a problem to dilute, drive off or solve with a bottle of additive. AdBlue is designed for a separate emissions system, not for the fuel tank. Acting quickly can turn an expensive emergency into a straightforward roadside drain and clean.
AdBlue is a purified urea-and-water solution used by many modern diesel vehicles to reduce exhaust emissions. It belongs in the dedicated AdBlue reservoir, usually accessed through a separate blue cap near the fuel filler or under the bonnet. It must never enter the diesel tank.
